Who We Are

History

Families United 4 Justice is a growing frontline collective of families affected by police violence. FU4J’s mission is to UNITE families affected by police violence in United States, and eventually beyond.  Every case of police murder is important, but the amount of evidence exposing the violence, corruption, and negligence of the police, the courts, and our elected officials is undeniable when all of our loved ones’ cases are combined.  Thus, UNITY amongst the families is necessary for achieving JUSTICE in this nationwide movement against police brutality.
If you are have lost someone to police violence and wants more information about this Network, please fill out this contact form.  We’ll get back to you promptly. The members of the FU4J Network are all independent family organizations that are all individually lead and funded by the respective family. The Network does not provide direct financial support to its members.

The Network is overseen by an Executive Board elected by FU4J Network member organizations and is staffed by the Network Support Unit, a department within the FU4J Network. The Network also has various working groups and committees (which include Membership, Amicus and Policy, Ethics and Best Practices, International, and Justice Support) that conduct much of the Network’s work and offer services to individual Network members.

For interested parties from outside of the United States, please note that while the FU4J Network welcomes applications from all organizations that can satisfy its membership criteria, and while non-U.S. members have full membership rights, including voting rights in the Network, the resources that the Network provides are primarily geared toward U.S.-based family organizations. Among other things, all Network materials are distributed in English, Network meetings are conducted in English, and the organizational development services that the Network Support Unit offers are predominately applicable to organizations within the United States. All applicants are also expected to meet the Network’s Ethics and Best Practice standards despite possible conflicts that might arise in conjunction with international jurisdictions.
